DAPHNE GALE

January 16 @ 7:30 pm

Doors: 7 || Show: 7:30 || $15

“Daphne Gale gently excavates the twenty-something heart with acoustic storytelling” – Kate Millar, Atwood Magazine. Daphne Gale is farm folk honesty, metropolitan mockery, and emotional novelty. Raised in the Bronx with annual trips to Paris visiting her father, the American-French artist grew up playing guitar, singing opera, and making up characters of commuters on the subway. On a road trip with friends in 2019, she found something sparked on a farm in Vermont and decided to stay. She spent the next year harvesting vegetables and sowing the seeds of her own folk music awakening. By the 2020 Pandemic, Daphne had a growing cannon of songs and a dream to turn them into an album. She picked a spot on the map, called up four trusted collaborators, and convinced them to quarantine in New Mexico with her to record it. Daphne released her debut album, Nomadder, at the 2021 Telluride Bluegrass festival to wide acclaim. She has since collaborated with Noah Kahan, Bailen, Charlie Hickey, and Baird and performed on stages around the world including LA’s Troubadour, New York’s Rockwood Music Hall, and Berlin’s Hole44. A national YoungArts Winner, Johnny Mercer Songwriters’ Project Fellow, and 2023 Telluride Troubadour Finalist, Daphne is currently working on her third album and co-writing actress Naiomi Scott’s debut record. Daphne’s music meets city sophistication with acoustic purity – tackling profound themes with lighthearted vocal sincerity – telling stories of love and becoming.
