A collaborative triple bill featuring Western Slope sirens Gabrielle Louise, Emily Scott Robinson and Caitlin Cannon. Expect crafty songwriting, spellbinding storytelling, and some seriously witchy harmonies.

Gabrielle Louise, Emily Scott Robinson and Caitlin Cannon have the Telluride Bluegrass Troubadour Contest to thank for their introduction. They connected via competing there in various years, where they all placed – Emily Scott Robinson taking first in 2019, and Gabrielle Louise and Caitlin Cannon taking 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in 2023. Come hear their award winning compositions, this time with the addition of their three part harmonies supporting each other’s material. 

This group of women has in common that they each take songcraft very seriously, and their work presents with a rare focus and clarity of content. Musically speaking, they occupy complimentary corners. Emily can bring you down a country road on one number, then on the next Gabrielle will evoke a low lit speakeasy or Caitlin will suddenly pull open the curtain on a comedy club. No destination is off limits. 

A little bit about each artist: 

Hailing from Paonia, CO, Gabrielle Louise writes “Deliciously Literate Americana.” (Aquarian Weekly) that blends a sophisticated use of musical harmony with a lyrical love for philosophy and history. “Her voice is going to make time stand still in that it is full, rich and has great nuance in it.” (No Depression) Known for her authenticity and candor on stage, her performances delight with whimsical banter and enchant with dynamic musicality. After graduating Berklee College of Music with a degree in Songwriting, she crossed the country many times over in a veggie oil powered tour van, won multiple awards for her songcraft, and released nine records of original work. She has been entrusted to open for greats from Richie Havens to the late Guy Clark. She is also a watercolor painter.

Telluride singer-songwriter Emily Scott Robinson mixes folk and country with gorgeous, clear-eyed examinations of faith, hope and regret.”— NPR. With a quarter million miles under her belt and counting, Robinson travels the dusty highways of America, capturing the stories of the people she meets and expertly crafting them into songs. She received critical acclaim for her debut album Traveling Mercies– Rolling Stone named it one of the “40 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2019.” In 2021, Robinson signed with Oh Boy Records, John Prine’s legendary label, and released her follow-up album American Siren. It made numerous “Best of 2021” lists including NPR, Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, and No Depression. In 2022, Robinson released a collaboration for theater— a song cycle written for the Witches of Shakespeare’s Macbeth called Built on Bones.

“While Caitlin Cannon claimed victory at The Songwriter’s Serenade in (2023) 3rd place in the Telluride Troubadour Contest (2023) and was a finalist in The American Songwriter Song Competition (2022) her ambitions do seem aligned with Saving Country Music’s assessment that she’s “not a songwriter for the winners. She’s a songwriter for the broken, the downtrodden, the losers, the motherf—rs [and is] a hilarious person on stage who could have a second career as a comedian”. In addition to making her comedic/musical debut on ‘Kill Tony’ this year, Cannon began an artist in residency at Walton Correctional Institution teaching songwriting to inmates. The result is a live show that is equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking. Her latest studio release’ Beggar’ (a four-song EP and standalone precursor to her forthcoming full-length album ‘Love Addict’—both produced by Misa Arriaga who is best known for his work with Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson) is all songwriting chops and vibe.”
