The Pink Unicorn Project

Award-winning actress Merrily Talbott tells the story of Trisha Lee, a Christian widow from a conservative, small town in Texas. Her life is upended when her teenage daughter comes out as gender queer and tries to start a chapter of a Gay & Straight Alliance at her high school.

It’s a heartwarming tale that opens hearts and minds beyond LGBTQ issues, to questions about family, faith, and forgiveness. Merrily has worked with teens and parents as a teacher for over 25 years. She has been a school counselor, a community educator and Rape Crisis Counselor, and directed a school-based peer counseling program. With three family members in the LGBTQ community, serving as an ally is an important part of her work.
