Featured Poet: David Feela of Cortez, Colorado.

feelaDavid Feela is a poet, free-lance writer, and thrift store pirate. His work has appeared in hundreds of regional and national publications, including the syndicated High Country News "Writers on the Range," Mountain GazetteSmall Farmer's JournalUtne Reader, and in the newspaper as a "Colorado Voice" for The Denver Post. For 11 years he served as a contributing editor and columnist for the former Inside/Outside Southwest and currently writes for The Four Corners Free Press and The Durango Telegraph. He has authored a poetry chapbook, Thought Experiments (Maverick Press), which won the Southwest Poet Series, a full length poetry book, The Home Atlas, which appeared in 2009, and a collection of essays, How Delicate These Arches which was selected as a finalist for the Colorado Book Awards in the category of creative nonfiction. He lives in Cortez, Colorado.

Established in 1915, the Sherbino has been the heart of Ridgway Colorado, providing a venue for community events ranging from music to poetry. Now in a period of re-birth, the Sherbino continues to standout as the hub of events and community activities in Ridgway and throughout Ouray County. On February 11 2012 the Sherbino incorporated as the Ridgway Chautauqua Society Inc. whose mission is to embody the Chautauqua tradition by producing programs celebrating lifelong learning, the arts, culture and community.
