You Knew Me When
“You Knew Me When, a delightful husband-and-wife duo from Ouray, by way of Nashville, Tennessee. The two pack a punch with their unique sound that draws comparisons to none other than Shovels & Rope.”
- Kathrine Warren, The Watch, Telluride, CO
Outfitted with an array of instruments, You Knew Me When is a husband and wife indie folk-rock pairing with a full band sound. Based in Ouray, CO, by way of Nashville, TN, the duo have toured nationally since June of 2012 throughout North America, sharing their collective sound. Now performing in support of their third studio album "Into the Looking Glass", You Knew Me When continue to create and serve up an array of craft brewed compositions coast to coast.
While blending their vocals, Karisa, who previously served as a tenured Nashville Public School music teacher and who now serves as the Music Teacher at Ouray School, provides the piano, ukulele, glockenspiel, and percussion, as local visual artist Cie, who spent several years as the Global Events Manager for Gibson Guitar, supplies the guitar and other rhythmic nuances. The cumulative result is a musical style that blends a singer-songwriter soul with a rock n' roll mentality.
