ROCC's Dark Skies Committee presents "Saving the Dark"

Saving the Dark is a Documentary on the need to preserve night skies and ways to combat light pollution.

Being passionate about Astronomy and the night skies, Sriram Murali, the Director of the film, took it upon himself to raise awareness on light pollution through videos and films. The constant lack of care for Astronomy throughout his life and the lack of exposure to Astronomy while growing up inspired him to make this film. Sriram has a separate full time job and this is his first try at film making. Sriram volunteers for the International Dark Sky Association (IDA) and made this film in collaboration with the IDA.

The film screening will be proceeded by Astrophotography and Nightscapes by Black Canyon Astronomical Society – that showcases the dark Western Colorado Skies. The film will be followed by a question and answer session.
