Matchstick Productions' "Hoji"
Eric Hjorleifson has spent the better part of twenty years skiing in films, designing equipment and exploring the backcountry around the world. All these years of hard work have culminated in one thing he’s seemingly been avoiding; the spotlight of his own ski documentary.
With support from Arc’teryx, Dynafit, Sierra Nevada and Freeskier Magazine, Matchstick Productions has made a movie about one of their fan’s favorite skiers. Buy ADVANCE TICKETS HERE
Eric Hjorleifson lets his skiing speak for itself. He doesn’t stand on the bar and shout his accolades. He skis for brands that give him 100% creative control over the equipment that he designs and uses. He chases storms and ditches his cell phone for weeks at a time. His exploits are rarely flaunted on social media. In spite of all of this – or maybe because of it – he is a hero to legions of skiers across the globe. This is who Eric is – this is “HOJI.” Directed by Scott Gaffney and featuring Eric Hjorleifson, Chris Rubens, James Heim, Michelle Parker, Mark Abma, Markus Eder and more.
Audiences can expect an inside look at Eric’s career and highlights from over the years. The film will also feature scenes from the interior of British Columbia from the winter of 2018. Eric invited influential figures in his life from his youth ski coach to his current backcountry ski partners and family members.
